I’m Tom Alder, an industrial designer specialising in detailed design, fabrication strategy and precision installation for architectural and public-realm projects. I turn ambitious concepts into buildable environments—coordinating material, manufacturing and on-site delivery from early development to installed completion. I’m based in Amsterdam and available for design and fabrication roles across Europe.

I deliver complex spatial and architectural outcomes end-to-end: leading detailed design and design for manufacture, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and fabricators, managing procurement and quality, and executing precision installation. My focus is resolving the tension between architectural intent, manufacturing feasibility, spatial constraints, and tight delivery schedules.
beyond design
When I’m not designing or on site, I’m running—long runs through the Mountains are when I feel most me. It’s where I think clearly and where I’ve learned that good outcomes come from planning, effort and problem-solving. I also spend time woodworking and making furniture, which keeps my hands sharp and reminds me why good materials and craft matter.
